Frequently asked questions

If you still have more questions, contact us here.

If you want to train with a master, we need to know you’re committed. Applicants to the comprehensive Custom Design and Fabrication program will write an essay explaining why they want to advance their skills in the RestoMod industry, submit a portfolio that shows off their skills, and interview with a Kindig Academy Admissions officer. To enroll in a weekend program, click here to learn about current offerings and reserve your spot.

This is an advanced skills program, so introductory concepts won’t be part of your curriculum. Students will be expected to already have foundational skills in most areas and will be asked to demonstrate those skills as part of the application process. A class full of students who already have that basic knowledge means instructors can focus on advanced specialized skills needed to produce the kinds of high-end custom vehicles for which Kindig is famous.

There’s only two requirements: a love of all things automotive, and the commitment to put in the work. These are beginner-level classes, so there’s no experience necessary. Whether you’re a weekend warrior in the garage or a complete novice, we’d love to have you in class!

If you ‘re accepted into the Academy, we’ll be happy to help you find housing by connecting you with Lincoln Tech ‘s available resources. Students come from around the country to train at the Denver campus, and there are a lot of different nearby housing and transportation options available.

Tuition for this six-week advanced program is $7,500 which includes the books and consumables needed for the program as well as a Kindig Academy at Lincoln Tech shirt. Travel, living accommodations and meals are not included in the tuition. For complete details regarding the cost of the program please call 844-713-0067 .

Each weekend course is just $695 – making them easier on your schedule, and your budget. For full details regarding the weekend course tuition, please call 844-713-0067 .

The full Custom Design and Fabrication program includes about six weeks of intensive hands-on training, covering 240 instructional hours. You can opt to complete the training over two 3-week modules, or earn your credential sooner and complete the 6-week program all at once.

The weekend intro classes each last, well, a weekend!

Kindig Academy courses will be taught by incredibly talented, highly experienced industry professionals hand-selected by Dave Kindig himself.

It’s possible! We expected a lot of custom vehicle design and fabrication employers would be more than thrilled to have an employee with specialized skills you can build through the Kindig Academy at Lincoln Tech.
